At Flowers & Associates, Ms. Malanca manages, coordinates, and assists with designing projects to comply with City and State requirements for storm water management.
Prior to joining Flowers & Associates, Ms. Malanca worked for the City of Santa Barbara Creeks Division for eight years, implementing the City’s Storm Water Management Program and enforcing the City/State/Federal requirements for storm water development design. Educating herself, City staff, and design professionals about the ever-changing storm water and water quality protection laws has become an essential element for local project compliance and permitting. Promoting “Low Impact Designs” (LID) and finding ways projects can protect and improve surface water quality, and how these designs fit into local regulations and project needs, has been Ms. Malanca’s personal interest as well as her professional task for almost a decade.
Ms. Malanca is a graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara and brings 15 years of experience in project management, LID, water quality management and program administration. Autumn’s professional background ranges from the Federal government (US Fish & Wildlife Service), to private consulting (URS Corporation), to municipal operations and outreach. Her varied experience is a valuable asset to the firm.
Local development consultants and agency staff have come to rely on Ms. Malanca for assistance in providing practical compliance with the latest storm water management requirements.
